Beauty Boxes

Birchbox

I love Birchbox. $10/month or $110/year. I was first introduced with a gift subscription of 3 months from a dear friend. At first, I thought it was silly why would I want to pay for samples when I have been such a freebie fiend. But Birchbox slowly stole my heart in those 3 months by giving me various skincare, haircare, makeup, and snack samples that I realized I loved. I also love the idea of receiving a box of 4-7 items each month. (Did I mention how much I love getting packages in the mail?). Best of all with Birchbox is that for every item you receive you can review the product for 10 points. Every 100 points = $10 in the Birchbox store. When purchasing from the store there are usually various gifts with purchases, percentage off, free shipping, extra points, or extra samples. My favorite part is Birchbox customer service. I've never met a company so dedicated to responding and making their customers happy.

3B

$12/month for this. I love Asian beauty products. Its a mix of skincare, haircare, and makeup. It certainly helps there's a postcard to tell you what the items are otherwise...I might be clueless on some!

WalMart Beauty Box

This is my newest subscription. Every season (4x a year) WalMart charges $5 to send you a box of items. From the preview it looks like a mix of items for makeup, skincare, haircare, and personal care (deodorant). For $20 a year I'm willing to risk it. Lately I have been trying to get into more drugstore items anyway!

Target Beauty Box

This awesome steal comes out randomly - sometimes its every quarter other times more often then that. It's purchased via the Target website at either $5 or $10. The good news is you know exactly what you are getting and you can decide when its released whether or not you want it. Bad news - quantities are limited.

Macy's Spotlight

I'm still on the waiting list for this, but its a $9.99/month box and it looks AWESOME! The first box had a full sized Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss. Please Please take me off the wait list!

Sephora Play

Also still on the wait list for this. I can't say I'm as excited about this after seeing the Macy's box. Its also $10/month. No point perks like Birchbox...

(ex) Ipsy

Since I'm a huge fan of Michelle Phan I signed up for Ipsy. It is also $10/month sometimes it requires a waitlist to get on. Overall I wasn't a huge fan as it was purely makeup products and not really products that I liked. You also receive a bag every month which I definitely did not need. The point system isn't anywhere close to Birchbox's every 1000 points you can redeem for some item. But it takes forever to get to 1000 unless you refer people. I got rid of this after 4 months. It also requires doing a lot of social media to get points.

(ex) Barkbox

When this first launched I got a box for free. Honestly I loved the products, the idea, and the customer service. I think if I had my dog full time I would definitely consider getting this!

(ex) Beauty Bar Allure's Sample Society

I did a mystery deal with this where I ordered 10 boxes for the ridiculous price of $35 total.(Each box costs $15) So I thought it was worth it. I don't think paying $15/month would fly with me though.

Influenster

Influenster is a tester program (let me know if you want a referral) for various products. You have to take quizzes, complete certain challenges when you get the box, but overall its a great idea to try new things. Also some people are extremely luckily and get Keurig machines, VS Sports Bras/Clothes...so yeah I think its great so far! I wish I could be chosen for more though.
